North Wales Potters aims to encourage the exchange of ideas, techniques and philosophy whilst also providing marketing opportunities for the membership with our exhibition programme.
The Association hold regular meetings throughout the year consisting of demonstration days, hands on workshops, lectures and talks, all usually with a guest potter. These events provide an opportunity for social meeting as well as increasing our knowledge and perception about the field of ceramics with fellow artists. These events are held at various venues throughout North and Mid Wales, often in members studios and home
North Wales Potters has a busy exhibition programme with venues not only in North Wales but throughout Britain. A regular newsletter, Claywork is circulated to all members and other interested groups, containing news, views, comments, events information, reviews, articles and photos. The membership is actively encouraged to use and contribute to this publication.
With the support of the Arts Council of Wales (Craft Board), North Wales Potters, together with South Wales Potters and Aberystwyth Arts Centre, organise and host the spectacular International Ceramics Festival every two years. This popular event, the biggest in Europe, invites internationally respected guest demonstrators and attracts participants from all over the world, for this weekend extravaganza of ceramics.
Membership is open to anyone with an interest in ceramics, whether you are a professionnal ceramist, enthusiastic amateur, student, teacher or collector and living within Wales and the borders. |
